" For dogs, being part of their own kind has a profound meaning. Being part of a family of people wouldn’t have that same kind of meaning. They would be comfortable, and maybe even spoiled. But their lives would lack this primal meaning. So when these dogs get to be part of their own — regardless of the breed— they feel complete. The genes of a canine are crying out for her to go out and wander with her pack, explore new territory, roam around, and search for food and water."

I have been using Ursula and Seattle Dog Day trips for an average of 2 x's / week for over a month. She has a loving dog of her own who accompanies all trips. She is very energetic, dog focused and a great pack leader. I signed up and couldn't be happier. My dog returns home well run, happy and most often when I return home, a tired dog.
If you're looking for a dogs adventure beyond a quick walk...you have found a solid dog person!

Ursula at Seattle Dog Day Trips is fantastic! My dog absolutely adores her, and he comes back tired and happy. She does really well handling big and small dogs of all personalities, and she balances the needs of each dog. Finny is absolutely thrilled, and it makes my life easier. I couldn't recommend her more highly!

Ursula is easy-going, yet energetic and responsible, which is exactly what you need when you are trusting someone with your precious pups. She also understands different dog personalities. This is unlike many other dog walkers and care-takers, some of whom are just going through the motions and counting the minutes. When my dogs returned, they were happy and actually clean considering where they had been🤣. Perhaps most importantly, is that they were very happy to see her when she came by to return my key.

FAQ
FAQ
What park will my dog visit?
The default park is Luther Burbank. In the event of an unforeseen pivot, Marymoor is the contingency park. You will always be notified and included in the planning process when the need for such a pivot presents itself. From plenty of experience, I know these two dog parks to have the best-behaved dogs, dog owners, and environment-- sand, grass, wooded areas, and lake or river to swim in!
Are there any requirements?
I only accept dogs who are leash-trained, non-aggressive, have moderately strong recall skills, and who are up to date on all legally required shots. It is my responsibility to ensure that each dog has a healthy, safe, and fun experience, and that the pack is not put at risk of any kind. In order to do so, my ability to be in control as the pack leader is non-negotiable. Dogs who cannot be controlled on-leash or off-leash due to dominance behavioral challenges would jeopardize my ability to maintain my control over the pack and would be detrimental to my business and professional performance. Such dogs would benefit more from specialized training services rather than dog walking or park adventures. If you cannot control your singular dog on- and off-leash, I certainly cannot do so when handling multiple dogs at a time. I can offer individual walks to dogs who have on-leash aggression challenges on a case-by-case basis as long as they are manageable to a reasonable degree. If this is your situation, feel free to reach out and we can chat further to see if I’m able to accommodate you and your dog’s needs.
How does pick-up/drop-off work?
If you live on my route, pick-up/drop-off is included in the price! Otherwise, there is a +$15 pick-up/drop-off option available for you! Some clients will give me a spare fob/key, some will leave their doors unlocked, and some WFH and can let me in upon arrival. Each client determines what is most convenient to their circumstance.
How do we meet-&-greet?
There are two options available for you to choose from: we can meet at Luther Burbank during the daily Sea Dog Day Trip visit, which will give us a chance to introduce your dog to me and my dog in the environment we'll be frequenting, or we can meet at your home, which will give your dog a chance to establish familiarity with me coming to your home to pick him/her up. I'm happy to accomodate whichever is most convenient for you, as dog personalities and dog parenting styles vary from client to client.
What is the booking process?
Once we have completed a meet-and-greet, you are welcome to book via the calendar on my website. You will have to book separately for separate days. If you plan on signing your dog up for multi-day visits every week, rather than having to make individual bookings every week via the website, you are instead welcome to make one payment for the week's total via Zelle or Venmo, due by Sunday prior to the beginning of the week.
Do you offer boarding?
I offer boarding only for Sea Dog Day Trips clients. The price is $150/night, which includes the price of a park visit per night booked. Your dog will get to ejoy the comfort of a home rather than a kennel, companionship from me and my dog, all the necessary walks unique to each dog's needs, and park visits for every day they are booked for a sleepover with us. I will keep you updated via text, photos, and videos throughout their stay with us!
Is there a cancellation policy?
Park visit cancellations made up to 4 hours prior to the start of your service will be fully refunded. Those made within 4 hours will be retained as a credit for a future booking. Boarding cancellations must be made 72 hours prior to the start of the booked boarding date in order to be fully refunded. Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior will be partially refunded with a 25% cancellation fee retained.
